On Friday, fog became irresistible as a subject. There were a few days the week before where everything was swathed in a thick mist, but I was ignoring weather at that point. When I finally decided I could do something with the fog, I waited too long and it had dissipated. Probably a lucky escape – pictures of foggy London, anyone?
Two really nice images. I love fog. The second shot with the reflection is the window is awesome. The reflection is like a sleeping spirit.
Thank you so much Mobius! That’s a really interesting twist on the meaning – I was just interested in the near-double image. Do you find, in your own work, that the meaning makes itself evident a long time after the making?
To answer your question about meaning. Yes. I’ll often photograph something just because it captures my eye – for no particular reason. What the image means to me will often come after I’ve completed the processing. Of course everyone brings their own experience and acquire their own meanings when they view it. I’m always interested to hear what an image means to others or how they interpret it. Thanks again for visiting and your comments on my blog. I value your art and opinion. Peace.
I remembered my train trip from London to Swindon… 🙂 Wonderful shots. Thank you, with my love, nia
Thank you very much, Nia! Yes, once you’ve travelled on an English train you never forget, ha ha.
actually not once, many times I travelled between London / Oxford/ Bournemouth/ Brighton/ Bath etc. 🙂 But the last one was Swindon, last summer all others many many years ago 🙂 I love British trains especially in many years ago… now they are so modern… I am so nostalgic one… You are welcome and Thanks dear Richard, with my love, nia
Hey Richard… we’ve been having crazy fog here in Toronto (crazy weather all around actually)! I went out for a run and ran right into the thickest fog I’ve ever experienced. You can see two photos of that fog (or mist or whatever it was) if you click on my Instagram Portfolio link on my blog (in the right hand column). The spookiest scene ever!
Great post, btw!
Olga
Thanks Olga! Yes, spooky indeed – particularly the first photo, where the little figure is centre-stage and you get a real sense of the scale of the trees – great stuff.
Fabulous images!!! Great compositions!!
Thanks Santi! That is a great compliment!
I love the sleeping guy. It’s the reflection in the window that makes it but there’s always something interesting about people sleeping in public.
Thanks Ann, glad you like it – yes, I think people look really vulnerable when they sleep “outside”.
Awesome B&W photo. Thanks for sharing Nonoy Manga
Thanks! Glad you like it.
