When Doves Cry (I), 2012
When Doves Cry was the first Prince song I heard. It was on the radio in a petrol station I was working in. It was one of those “What the?” moments. It’s still one of my favourites.
This week’s posts are all named after Prince songs and are in response to this article. I would also like to point you in the direction of Obsolescence Project, where more questions (and jokes) about titles are being presented. And there’s voting fun to be had in my previous post.
Great shots you have there! =)
Thanks very much! Your blog looks great – I’ll be back.
These photos are mirroring my world at the moment. Somewhat more comforting than the plethora of summer photos reminding me of what I’m missing.
Yes, Leanne said it was wet and wintry. Sad to say these are summer photos and there’s no rain involved…
These two images leave me breathless and speechless. Bravo!!!!!!
Wow, thanks, Mobius! I’m really pleased you like them – probably wouldn’t have thought to take them if not for seeing your work.
So beautiful post…. I am impressed so much. Thank you dear Richard, love, nia
Thank you, Nia. I’m glad you like them. Have a great weekend.
Fantastic effect!
That’s no effect…
I thought maybe you were looking through something? dirty glass?!
Thanks and I’m really sorry Cath, yes, now I see what you mean! Immediately, and incorrectly (always the way when you make an assumption), assumed you meant photoshop effects. Yes, you’re absolutely right – filthy, dirty windows in the tunnel that connects Waterloo East to Waterloo Station proper. I don’t think they’ve been cleaned since the station was opened 🙂
Grimy indeed! Fab. Thanks for the shout-out. I voted yesterday for them to stay:)
Forgot to say, of course, now I will have that song in my head for the next hour:)
It’s a meme if ever there was one – how amazing to be able to create one of those and be good.
yup – it’s still here:)
Thanks, Deanne! The whole tunnel is like that – there’s not a single clean window. Quite funny if it’s your first view of London, which it could be for a lot of people. Thanks for voting – I’ll stick by the majority decision 🙂
I really love what you have done to these images, they are great.
Thanks, Leanne. I didn’t do much to be honest, except frame them – these are a couple of woefully dirty windows in a tunnel connecting one train station to another.
hi there…wondering where these photos were taken
Hi there, they were taken in a pedestrian tunnel connecting Waterloo and Waterloo East stations in London, UK. They need a new window-cleaner.
haha…quite better this way though, clean is not interesting at all…! saw the reference in the other comments about Waterloo, but just wanted to be certain
Cool shots, Richard!
Thanks, Richard!
One man’s filth… is another man’s lens. Or something like that. 🙂
Very cool perspective, Richard!
Olga
Ha, ha, thanks very much, Olga!
bittersweet and beautiful!
Thanks, John!
