Star (I), 2012
So, to begin my run of Stars (all named after the song of the same name on David Bowie’s The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars) is this man. Again, to my shame, I don’t know his name. He was very generous allowing me to take his picture and is also extremely talented – the T-shirt is his own design. Another great look.

Why the David Bowie titles? Thank Cardinal Guzman and Seascapesaus for suggesting his work as a suitable source. David Bowie week is also being celebratedover on the Cardinal’s blog, so check it out.
As always thanks also to John Pindar and Deanne who set this whole titling thing in motion.

I’m experiencing connection problems again, so apologies if I’ve not made it to your blog in the last day or so – I will get there, it’s just slooooooooooooooow.
I don’t mind the David Bowie titles, it brings back memories. I went to see him in his Glass Spider Tour many, many years ago.
I’m jealous – don’t think I’ll get the chance to see him now.
I have to say, it is something to be jealous about, it was an amazing event. I don’t know if he will ever tour like that again.
No, I doubt he will – he appears to have retired, which is a shame.
Nice picture! I wish I was bold enough to ask people to pose for me …
Virgin media slow? Oh, sundays were always so boring in England, because I used to be with virgin … 😉
Thanks, Verena! Yes, BT for me – very slow and intermittent – keeps cutting out in the middle of things. Grr!
A mí también me da verguenza pedir a alguien que pose, prefiero tirar de zoom, ¡me encantan las chanclas!
Think I may be nuts, but I think using a zoom is cheating, ha ha. Yes, they’re great aren’t they?
Since I am of that 99,9 % I do traps jajajajajaja, I do not have your value, embraces
Pues yo soy de las que el 99,9% hago trampas jajajajajaja, no tengo tu valor, abrazos
Makes me long for Summer.
Me too, and we’re officially in it!
Cool image. Love the footwear – a sort of neo-roman look.
Which makes me think of a song called Modern Romans by a band simply known as THE CALL.
Thanks, Mobius. Yes, they’re great aren’t they? I’ll have to check out The Call – thanks for the tip.
Nice shot and love his sandals – very Greco-Roman. Love Bowie’s early stuff (up to about the early 80s), not so much a fan of his later stuff.
Thanks, Stevie. Yes, he was really good in that period – probably went by in blur of frenzied creativity for him. I guess you’ve got to put the brakes on sometime…having said that, I really like some of the later stuff. Have you heard Heathen?
Like the Bowie theme. I saw him in 74 as Ziggy Stardust. Looking forward to a shot of someone wearing a bipperty-bopperty hat (from Queen Bitch).
You win, so far, John. There’s going to be a lot of jealousy around what you just said. Stay tuned for the bipperty-bopperty hat.
LIke many others here I also noticed the sandals.
Notes to the Milkman is a lucky old bastard! 😀
Moonage Daydream is my reply to your Star

Very nice! Great choice of song.
What was he thinking with those sandals?
I think they look great! I only wish I had the imagination to put better outfits together.
