The Stainless Steel Rat, 2012

The Stainless Steel Rat was Harry Harrison’s second novel. It was published in 1961. It’s a light, comic, space-opera about a super-criminal (Slippery Jim diGriz, the Stainless Steel Rat), who falls foul of the law after pulling off a major heist. He is forcibly enlisted into the ranks of a specialist government crime-fighting agency made up of ex-criminals. Set a rat to catch a rat. I can’t really remember the novel – I was a schoolboy when I read it. Can anybody fill me in?

For the next fortnight I will be naming my posts and photographs after Science Fiction novels.

As always thanks to John Pindar and Deanne who set this whole titling thing in motion. And to my collaborator and all-round cool dude, Richard over at CK Ponderings, who is naming his photographs after Pet Shop Boys songs.
