Street Portrait (for and of Mark), 2013
This was taken 5th February – it was a busy day for portraits. The pavement was busy as well, but Mark stood out immediately and I was delighted when he agreed to a few shots. This is my favourite. What a great look! A man out of time. Thanks very much, Mark! Hope you like your picture.

Thanks very much, John. Yes, they’re great – this had to be a profile shot.
Reblogged this on filmcamera999.

Rockstar meets Rockstar
🙂
Like the shot! I´m also a fan of those Andy Caps!
Cheers!
Thanks very much, Charles! Yes, me too – can’t wear them though – wrong shaped head or something – make me look like the boy in the Hovis ads.
Hallo,
This is for you, for being kind to others and me, http://www.bigcards.nl/card/pickup/bc-c7cf3c10/
Sweet Valentine greetings, Summer
That’s so nice of you, thanks very much! Sweet Valentines greetings to you too!
You’re welcome : ) And thanks to you too
Happy Valentines Day to YOU. I love street photography…it is something I am not able to capture alot of in Florida:)
Thank you! And to you! I can imagine 🙂
Stripely great!
Thank you, Elena! Yes, indeed!
Those glasses reminds me of the stuff that the riot police horses wear.
Yes, of course. They look kind of steam-punk as well, I think.
Amazing glasses!
Yes, I should have asked Mark if he made them himself – I’ve never seen anyone else wearing glasses like it.
Fantastic shot Richard and full of character! Mark’s look needs a film script, he’s a natural! (So are you!)
Thanks very much, Patti! Yes, he definitely has the look of an adventurer/ aviator. Very cool. (Thanks, ha, ha)
You are so good at spotting these characters! Fab glasses!
Thanks! Yes, I covet Mark’s glasses.
Yes, a time traveler. Perhaps you have actually photographed one without knowing…
(Have you read any Jasper Fforde books?)
He has the air of having just landed, I think. (No, I haven’t, but I’ve just Googled him and he looks interesting…do you recommend giving him a whirl?)
I think his work is very clever. It seems to me you would like it, I think.
Right, I’ll have a look – always keen to discover new books – thanks, Karen!
I am reminded of Ottoman Dandy’s blog in which he regales his readers with his sartorial adventures. In recent posts, he talks about the foulard, the wool coat, the turtleneck, and the influence of British style. Your street characters more or less get it. 🙂 What fun. Check him out. He presents delicious clothes for men!
Thanks for the recommendation, George. I’ll check out the Dandy’s blog tonight – sounds great fun. 🙂
I can understand how he stood out and lucky for us you noticed. Great portrait Richard.
Yes, thanks very much, Leanne. That’s a great compliment.
