Street Portrait (for and of Peter), 2013
Not long after taking Damon Albarn’s portrait, I ran into Peter on Great Queen Street. It was another hot day and he was much better dressed for it than me. We had a brief chat and Peter let me take a load of shots – this is the best of them and the one Peter selected. Thanks very much, Peter!
Beautiful! Peter and his portrait. Well done, Richard, it’s one of my favourites of yours.
Thanks so much, Ashley! I’m really glad you like it. Are you feeling any better?
The flu has gone but it set off my asthma. Another week or so and I should be ok. Thank you so much for asking, Richard.
Poor you – that can’t be any fun. Hope you feel better soon.
silver in black and white. beautiful!
Thanks very much, Inge! Yes, it almost reminds me of film.
Another face that oozes warmth. When I first read it I thought it said ‘Peter the Great on Queen Street
Yes, Peter has a great expression doesn’t he? Ha, yes, that would have probably been a better title.

Yes, indeed. Thanks very much, Jennifer!
He has a wonderful metallic glow surrounding that wonderful smile. was it the lighting or film?
Yes, it was a combination of the lighting and the way I tweaked the contrast in PS.

Lots of character in Peter’s face. Wonderful.

Yes, I do! It’s really nice getting some input from the subject – makes the whole thing more personal. Thanks very much, Leanne.
You caught the ease and sense of fun so beautifully!
Thanks so much, Patti! I take that as a big compliment. I loved your Romeo portrait – am going to get a new lens to try and stretch what I do a bit.
Beautifully lit and I really like the black and white. He exudes warmth.
Thanks very much, Karen. The B&W really emphasised the glare of the sun. Peter was such a nice person he was easy to photograph.
The light and his sculptured face work wonderfully. I like it a lot.
Thanks very much, George. Glad you like it. The light’s very harsh at the moment – we’re experiencing a heatwave.
So beautiful portrait! I love the sense of humor and the natural character in this shot. Well done, Richard and Peter! 😉

Oh, love this black and white style! Such a perfect match for the portrait itself.
