The Birds, 2013
I can’t help but wonder what that man is thinking.
Your pigeons look more elegant than those here. In Sydney they are more squat.
Me too. I’m sure it has nothing to do with pigeons. I’m quite a fan of pigeons – they are a very underrated bird – ungainly on the ground, but elegant in flight. Yours are probably better fed:)
I rather like them too, Richard.
Great portrait. The mans expression is wonderful. Could he be thinking, “Squab for lunch”?
Thanks very much, Terry. 🙂 Could be. Fortunately for the pigeons there’s that nice glass wall between them and him…
Wonderful capture of a moment, so many thngs we could play around with to read into it… I’d like to think he was revisiting harboured ill-feeling about a pigeon who done him wrong, but in reality he’s probably thinking ‘how long ’til the bloody bus comes…’
Ha, ha, that’s brilliant. There’s something so poetic about a “pigeon who done him wrong”. Thanks very much, EllaDee!
Ha ha ha. What a fun portrait. That guy’s expression cracks me up. “Fresh” has me laughing, too. Your processing enhances the (dark) humor of the image. Love it!
Thanks so much, Melanie! 🙂 Glad you like it.
Repugnance in action !!! : )
His expression is priceless
Thanks very much, Leon 🙂
Who watch who..? ‘hahaha’
Very well captured… 🙂
Yes, indeed. Thank you very much, Drake! 🙂
Wonderful composition! This image is absolutely great, Richard 🙂
Thanks very much, Anette 🙂
The pigeons are waiting for the bus, too?
That’s a great shot! the expression and yes, as Melanie mentioned ‘fresh’ is perfect.
Thanks very much, Karen! Perhaps the man objects to pigeons travelling by bus.
Definitly a great shot Richard ! the man’s gaze drive our eyes to the birds across the picture, the framing really works …
Thanks very much, Guillaume! That’s a really nice compliment.
but i doesn’t want them on the bus, or they are not allowed in, théy can always sit on top…
Yes, practically it would be a nightmare. No cleaner would work for the bus companies.
It’s those damned birds again! A wonderful scene, what with that withering look . . ..
Ha! Thanks very much, Patti!
I wish they’d stop singing and fly south already. – John S Hall
Excellent! Very funny. Thanks, Cardinal.
Priceless! Wonderful, Richard.
Thanks very much, Elena!
The is a great composition Richard, and cleverly titled.
Thanks very much, Alex. Just about to change my lens, so new rules to learn (can’t wait!).
Another great shot and the man’s expression helps create a story for the shot.
Thanks very much, Stevie. It was such a lucky moment – I fluffed one, but he kept doing that for long enough to get this one.
he definitely is doing his Mr Bean impression and tries it on the birds, that are not impressed at all 😉
He looks a little unnerved, lol… Great shot! 🙂
Something’s definitely bothering him for sure. Thanks very much, my friend! 🙂
He’s just old. The faces of some old people sag into perpetual scowls. The only noninvasive fix is to grin like a demented monkey all the time. Actually, fresh pigeon dung offends his sensibilities.
heck I ‘like’ them all!
🙂 Thanks very much, Carla!
This man seems more annoyed at the pigeons, funny capture!
Ha, thanks very much, Jennifer!
More birds Richard, I love the look on that guys face, a bit of revulsion maybe.
Yes, maybe, or annoyance – I like to think he’s thinking about something completely different and projecting his annoyance at the birds.
I feel sad for him. Sigh! Brilliant capture.
Thanks so much, Arjun. It’s really interesting the range of reactions this has provoked. I wish I knew what he was thinking.
