Great shots! Really caught my attention scrolling down the Reader! Usually I like contrasty images, but I like the muted feel of the first image. And great play with the shadows!
A perfect day is different for everyone. But these photographs are very fine, and I especially liked the first one. Wishing you the continuation of a beautiful day.
Thanks very much, Karen. I’m really glad you like them. The title’s from an early punk song by an Australian band called The Saints – it’s worth checking out.
Thanks very much, Jennifer! We’re in that period where one minute it is and the next it’s hot 🙂 After all these years I’ve still not figured out how to dress for it.
Thanks very much, Nancy! Glad you like them. Yes, that’s really true – I didn’t want to go that way – and tonally it’s softer on purpose to try and avoid that interpretation.
Nice shots, Richard! 🙂 If I am honest, I’m not sure if colour works for the last of the three, given the first two are in b/w, but they’re nicely sewn in together and work well as a triptych! 🙂
Omg the first one stopped me . It took my breath away. And I’ve flipped through a lot of photographs on wordpress. Congratulations on a special one in my humble opinion.
Hi Richard, sorry I’ve taken a while to visit, got a lot to catch up on! I love the shadows in the second two, and also the quality of the first image in relation to the fog, it’s very atmospheric. The first photo is my favourite out of the three.
Thanks very much, Arjun! That’s a really interesting reading – I hadn’t realised I’d done that – there’s always a reason why we put things together and that may well be it.
good set, that first one is superb, great atmosphere
Thanks very much, John. The fog’s usually gone by the time I’m up and about, but not that time.
Great shots! Really caught my attention scrolling down the Reader! Usually I like contrasty images, but I like the muted feel of the first image. And great play with the shadows!
Thanks very much, Niel! Glad you like the shots. Love your blog by the way.
Awesome! Great to hear.
Great series indeed. Love the atmosphere of the first one and the minimalism on the other two.
Thanks very much, Pramudiya. Glad you like them.
What a good little collection, a triptych of light and shade, sunshine and mist!
Thanks very much, Lois! Love your description.
Number 3! Number 3!
🙂 Thanks very much, Ashley!
Love 🙂 !
Hurrah! 🙂
Really love the first one… 🙂
Really glad you like it – thanks, Drake! 🙂

Thank you so much, Shimon. You too!
Muy buenas, pero la primera es mi favorita, son días de esos que me gustan, me entran ganas de ir ahora mismo, besos Richard
Muchas gracias, Manoli – es muy bueno escuchar que han tenido este efecto!
that time of the year… leave in the morning with a fleece vest and gloves on my moped, come home with my coat, vest and gloves in my bag
Yes, totally. Or in my case, sweat horribly on the train because my bag’s not big enough 🙂
i only drive my moped to the station, then a 1 1/2 hour train ride 😉
This was your typical London day last week, wasn’t it? Heavy fog, followed by lovely sunshine and long shadows.
Yes, it really was. I love this time of year.
I love each one of these. ‘This perfect day’ is the right description.
Lovely light and shadows in your world.
Thanks very much, Karen. I’m really glad you like them. The title’s from an early punk song by an Australian band called The Saints – it’s worth checking out.
Nice set! London looks cold to me, lol. 😀
Thanks very much, Jennifer! We’re in that period where one minute it is and the next it’s hot 🙂 After all these years I’ve still not figured out how to dress for it.
Good set. I like the feeling of presence and absence in each.
Thanks very much, Chris. I find it difficult to leave people out of the picture.
The narrative seems there without them in these.
Really atmospheric photos, love them!
I think you need the people in them as the first one especially might give an image slightly post apocalyptic?
Thanks very much, Nancy! Glad you like them. Yes, that’s really true – I didn’t want to go that way – and tonally it’s softer on purpose to try and avoid that interpretation.
wonderful connection in those images… you’re the image DJ!
have a great week,
Vinc
Ha, ha, thanks very much Vinc!
You too!
All three are terrific. Stellar composition!
Thanks so much, Elena! That’s a lovely compliment coming from you.
As soon as I saw the post title, my brain started humming… and now won’t stop…
Clever collection and repetition 🙂
Yes, what a great song (and band).
Thanks very much, EllaDee 🙂

Thanks very much, Richard! 🙂
Great set, enjoyed it. MM 🍀
Thanks very much, Mick! Dig your blog!
Cheers Richard, good to have you on board. MM 🍀
really nice set. Especially like the first two.
Thanks very much, Emily.

Hi Cheryl – no worries – nice to see you! Thanks very much – I’m edging towards that opinion too.
First is great 😉
Thanks very much, Emil! Dig your blog!
Perfect set. The sign-post, person on the street and cycle in the first picture highlighted in the next two, is as I see!
Thanks very much, Arjun! That’s a really interesting reading – I hadn’t realised I’d done that – there’s always a reason why we put things together and that may well be it.
Fabulous shots, Richard!!! Fantastic use of light and shadows, but I must agree with John, the first one is superb!!!
Thanks so much, Juan! That’s a lovely compliment coming from you.
Fog is great. I love fog.
Me too.
The disappearing lines in the fog say so much. A wonderful set of shots Richard!
Yes, I’m a big fan of fog, shadows and reflections – all very suggestive. Thanks very much, Patti!
Fall light is my favorite too
Yes, it’s great isn’t it?
Nice use of shadows. Love the mood that the fog sets in the first shot.
Thanks very much, Stevie. Yes, that was my lucky fog shot for the year – I’m not usually up in time to get anything decent.
