– Street Portrait (for and of Tziporah Salamon), 2014 –
There was a brief break in the rain the other day, so I dashed out. At the end of Shorts Gardens is an art gallery called the Hospital Club and this is where I saw Tziporah. She and a friend were getting out of a cab. I couldn’t believe how amazingly stylish she was. And not only that, she was lovely and agreed to a few shots. This is the second and my favourite. Thanks so much for stopping, Tziporah! Hope you like your picture.
Tziporah Salamon is a stylist, performance artist, model and legendary style icon. I strongly recommend you check out her website here.

wow….. quelle personnalité cette femme ! Beau portrait !
Oui, en effet. Merci beaucoup, Arielle!
Amazing image, and I’m sure an amazing woman. You’ve captured her wonderfully.
Thanks very much, Shane. Tziporah was incredibly glamorous and really nice about me taking her picture.
More VIPs !
Is that a demand?:)
More establishing a fact. You have had some famous peeps in front of your lens. Let me put it this way: i would not mind seeing more of them! But no pressure!
Ha, ha, I’ll see what I can do. Thanks, Chris.
Actors, musicians, artists…………………. line them up! Get out on the streets where Richard shoots!

Richard, a stunning portrait of the fabulous Tziporah! We have a portrait in common – I had the fun of shooting her in NYC Easter Sunday. She gets around what with her fabulous style!
Thanks so much, Patti! Ah, yes the parade and that fantastic hat! She does indeed!
Fantastic Richard, I love seeing some of the people you get to photograph and I am glad you left it in colour, not sure it would have the same impact.
Thanks very much, Leanne. Yes, some shots have to stay in colour and this is one of them. Tziporah was fantastically glamorous and generous.
Love it.
Thanks very much, glad you like it.
Oh how fabulous! Love this.
I’m sitting here in my spandex feeling very frumpy after looking at her website. Sigh.
Yes, she really was fabulous. Know what you mean – makes me despair about my appearance…
Wow. I love this portrait, and I also checked out Tziporah’s website. She is amazing.
She really is. Thanks very much, EllaDee – I’m really glad you like it.
Great portrait and what subject matter. She carries off that hat with panache!
Yes, I think Tziporah could carry off pretty much anything. Thanks very much!
Brilliant portrait, Richard! An image that raises a smile as soon as you see it! And one that could only work in colour too! Brilliant! 😀
Thanks very much, Richard! Yes, definitely a colour shot. Thank you, Sir! 🙂
excellent ce portrait !
Merci beaucoup, Ken!
This one is really nice, Richard! Wow 😀
Thanks so much, Anette 🙂
What a amazing portrait, Richard. I like this stylish chinese-alike look and her roguish smile 🙂
Thank you so much, Marta. Yes, Tziporah’s smile is wonderful isn’t it?
Very colourful, great portrait. A great piece of luck bumping into her.
Yes, sometimes it feels like fate (which I’m deeply skeptical about). It was very good fortune. Thanks very much, Stevie.
What a WOWer and you did a great capture of her flamboyant style! Amazing!
Yes, indeed. Thanks so much, Ellen!
Great portrait of a colourful woman – not the typical Israeli, but still very Israeli. The photo made me think of this King Missile song:

Talking about Strata of The Self: it hasn’t been updated for a while.
She’s amazing! In every way.
Yes, she is! She was one of those people who it feels special to be around. I really liked her.
Marvelous!
Thanks so much, Elena!
Tziporah is a wonderful character! And your portrait captures her great look and her world view equally well. I love her sense of humor and style. She’s a real keeper, Richard! Cheers, Tziporah! You made me smile.
Yes, indeed! Thanks very much, George – I agree!
Fabulous. I’m sure there are a book of stories she might tell
Yes, indeed – that would be fascinating. Thanks very much, Dohn.
Another great shot.
I took a look at Tziporah’s website, amazing.
The Hospital Club keep popping up in conversation lately.
Thanks very much, Alison. Yes, she’s great isn’t she? The HC is quite interesting – quite unassuming in a way, but a definite draw.
Fab fab fab Richard!
Thanks so much, Lesley!
Reblogged this on rebloggobbler.
Thanks very much, Douglas.
You’re welcome Robert!
Thanks, it’s Richard.
Sorry, my brain knew that but my hands did not cooperate! 🙂
🙂 No problem.
Fantastic, both shot and website! I want to be this brave with colour.
Thanks so much, Cath! Yes, Tziporah’s ace isn’t she? Me too – time to rethink the old wardrobe…
She is just a force onto herself! Well done!
Yes, indeed! Thanks very much, Kathryn!

Yes, indeed! Thanks so much!
You have a gift for finding people! Her hat is adorable and so is she!
Yes, she is! I really enjoy doing this – I’ve really met a lot of great people in the last two years.
So cool! Fashion icon, indeed. Love the portrait.
Yes, indeed! Thanks very much, Naomi!
What a stunning lady, she reminds me of Orlan.
Yes, she’s amazing isn’t she? It’s that idea that the way you dress is a work of art, I think. I was just watching a brief documentary on Leigh Bowery – we need more people like that in the world.
ha, she is awesome!
Yes, indeed! She was great to photograph – and really nice.
