The shadows tell their own stories. A fabulous montage Richard!
Thanks so much, Patti!
A great image, Richard! 😀
Thanks very much, Richard!
Experimenting with the impact of shadows can be fascinating. Nice shot, Richard.
Thanks very much, Anette. Yes, I agree – they lend themselves to narrative. Something about the darkness?
hehehe 😉 …
Powerfully subtle. I enjoyed the lines and the shadows directing my eyes.
Thanks very much, EllaDee. I’m really glad you like it.
Love all the different places my mind goes in trying to piece this shot together. Your abstract work is really strong!
Thanks so much, Jennifer!
Love the image, Richard, so many layers and untold stories.
Thanks very much, Ann – i’m trying to find some density and silence.
Very intriguing and unique.
Thanks very much, Ellen!
The shadows are heavenly but the reeds especially because of the drain, divine!
Thanks so much, Elena!
Intriguing image. Love the use of the scratches texture
Thanks very much, Stevie – yes, it’s a bunch of reeds at the edge of a stream, but I liked the way they looked like a frenetic drawing when I overlaid the other images with them.
I love your layering here Richard. I was fooled by the ‘scratches’ too! So many stories to wonder about and roam through.
Yes, they’re deceptive. I’m really glad you like it, Philippa. Thanks very much.
Hi Richard, I might have missed something earlier but who is Bobby of bibliophilia?
The title is a combination of two bits of text I read in an art magazine that made me laugh, the first part because it’s such a fine example of current artspeak and the second is a typo – I think it was supposed to read hobby, not bobby. But i thought it sounded like a good name for a legendary bookman.
Certainly does! thanks Richard.
Love the combination of scratches and shadows and what appears to be overlapped images. Great stuff
Thanks very much, Leon. Really glad you like it.
Reblogged this on rebloggobbler.
Great shot. Must be viewed large! At first I thought it had a lot of scratches on it, but then I opened the large version 🙂
Yes, it kind of loses itself in a small version. Thanks very much, Cardinal!
The image has lots of stories to tell.
Yes, three distinct ones, which I hope don’t sit easily together (was listening to dissonant music at the time, and it definitely had an effect, ha ha).
I didn’t find silence and density. I see a whole mystery there or a novel or a poem. The image is so full and complete. Interesting…… Obviously i “like” it
I’m a fan of your wit & ability to tell stories through fictional representations. Long live Bobby of Bibliophilia.
Ha, ha, thanks very much!
Stunning Limited Edition Super-Deluxe! This describes your image – it’s fantastic. A dance of light and shadow and I love the nature creeping in.
Ha, ha, thanks very much, Karen. I’m kind of interested in nature creeping in…
I like your choice to keep the contrast on the soft side… intriguing picture.
Thanks very much, John.
ciao! fascinating! light casts a shadow…the other side of light. great image.
