Effortless cool and another face of summer is what I thought when I saw Spencer. He was getting ready to ride off on his motorbike, when I asked if I could take his photograph. Spencer was great about it – this is the first of five shots and my favourite. Thanks very much, Spencer! Hope you like your picture.

It’s often the first shot you like best, I think. I find that interesting. . .
Yes, I think it’s do or die with the first shot, trying to capture that essential “thing” I’ve spotted, and also it’s less likely the person being photographed will think about being photographed.
