– Street Portrait (for and of Michael), 2015 –
I met Michael a fortnight ago on Shelton Street. A huge demolition had taken place since I was last there. I was just having a nosey at the hole where a building used to be when I spotted Michael. He was very nice about me taking a few shots. This is the second and is my favourite. Thanks very much, Michael! Hope you like your picture.

Those luminous things they wear make for a good photograph. I especially like it here with the brightly coloured crane in the background.
Yes, it can be a bit tricky not letting that yellow get shouty. Thanks very much, Ashley.
‘shouty’ 🙂
I also like the crane you give us – adds to the context – but his sweater is what gets me – such a nice sweater to go with the vest and his classy face. nice job.
Thanks very much, Yvette. Michael was really nice – very good about me taking the shots.
fist bump for Michael…💪
wait- that’s not it…
👊
Great image, Richard. I love the composition – it underlines his job more and really adds something to the image.
Thanks very much, Richard!
Wonderful portrait. The background and angle make it look dynamic instead of flat.
Thanks very much!
ciao! this photo is so ‘alive’ and exudes vibrancy…just the best.

Thanks so much! That’s a lovely compliment.
Great concentration in Michael’s face!
Yes, indeed. Thanks, Patti!
Love the patterns, colours and the squint of his eye. Excellent composition.
Thanks very much, Karen.
The humor and a little skepticisim are both apparent-terrific.
Yes, for sure. I really liked Michael. Thanks very much, Elena.
he looks weathered… and a bit tired!
Yes, I often wonder how some of these men make it through a week – you often see them on the train, completely wiped out at 4pm. Don’t think I’ve ever worked that hard.
