I love this. Nicely captured reflections and the title, wonderland, is wonderful.
Thanks so much, Cardinal. Really glad you like it. There are upsides to a morning commute.
Really good, Richard. I like the contrast between the woman and the rest.
Thanks very much, Ashley. Glad you like it.
Excellent.
Thanks very much, Rabirius.
Thats beautiful Richard
It’s the kind of picture you can look at and see something different every time
Thanks so much, Sheldon. That’s so nice to read and much appreciated.
So fascinating… 🙂
Thanks very much, my friend!
Soulful… and really poetic. 🙂
Thanks so much, MJ! 🙂
Sheer beauty Richard and a portal to daydreaming!
Thank you, my friend! Very much appreciated.
I love the photo, it is just how I myself can gaze out a window on a trip getting lost in the surroundings.
Brilliant work Richard, love it!
Thanks so much, Patti! Really glad you like it. Commuting sometimes has its up-side.
Really quite nice. Before putting on my glasses, I thought I was seeing an amusement park.
Ha, thanks very much, Barry.
…great, just great…magical…
Thanks so much, Kari.
Awesome. It really captures my imagination!
Thanks very much, Matt!
Nicely subtle and ghostlike. 🙂
Thanks very much, Richard.
Dear readers, I am very worried for Richard, he saw Alice in train, it must be monitored very closely, that he will see you at the next stop, a rabbit wearing his luggage,or a cat leading the locomotive steam …? !!!
Ha, ha, you crack me up, Laurent!
Oh wow! So beautiful!
Thanks so much, Gigi!
Usually the ghost of the photographer appears. I am guessing that’s not you Richard. How did you do that? But don’t tell me, I would rather just enjoy the image! Nice work.
No, it’s not me. It’s a stranger.
And thanks very much for the compliment.
Haunting with a sense of loss?
Thanks so much, Elaine. I’ve no idea what she was thinking about – I should have asked…
Love the steely epaulet.
Yes, that was such a lucky shot. I still really like chasing those moments.
i really like this, the wonderful geometry of it. There is something else about it too that I can’t quite pinpoint. At first there is a speed and lightness with the ephemeral flash of the face, but then, the more I look at it, the more I feel a heaviness about it, a crushing, as though the woman passively submits to some private burden.
I hope the burden wasn’t me taking loads of shots – although I think she was unaware of me.
Just perfect for the song, at the same time as making me hear it in another way. I’m really liking this series of posts, as much as I do yours and Ashley’s ongoing conversation.
Thanks very much – really glad you like them.
Such a beautifully austere wonderland.
Thanks so much, Steven.
Draws one in, again and again.
Thanks very much!
I came back to this image. It is ghostly and reminds me of mass transit, the L, in Chicago on a freezing cold winter day in my past.
Glad it does something – thanks very much, Ted. This was taken on a reasonably warm day – I think all that steel makes it look colder.
I almost missed the apparition, but then she made herself known.
I love the broken-down-roller-coaster feel of this.
It’s so great to be immersed in your visual world, Richard. It’s like a vibrating energy. I’ve been missing out by (mostly) slipping out the blog world… my loss. You’ve been making amazing work and collaborations.
Thanks so much, Karen – that’s such a lovely compliment. Yes, this has been a year for collaborations…I really like doing them. The ones with Barry and Dan remind me of yours with Elena, which I loved. Have you been painting?
Yes, I have been painting! : ) I just finished a good sized commission and now I’m starting on a new series and organizing my cluttered studio.
That sounds brilliant. Will we get to see any of the new work?
Maybe…
