Alice and Caner, 2016– Alice and Caner, 2016 –

Alice and Caner were in a large group of people on Great Queen Street, and fully engrossed in a conversation. Sensing a brief lull, I lunged in and asked them for a few shots. They were lovely about it. This is the first shot I took and is my favourite. Thanks very much, Alice and Caner! Hope you like your picture.

It’s been over two years since I last posted a double portrait – I have no idea why – must take some more…anyway, the one before this was this one: https://thefutureispapiermache.wordpress.com/2014/03/20/double-street-portrait-19/.

From now now TFIPM is going to be smaller, but more perfectly formed. There will be posts on Thursdays and Sundays only (with occasional special extra posts on other days). Ithangyow!

The title of this post is taken from a track by Van der Graaf Generator from their 1977 album, The Quiet Zone/The Pleasure Dome. You can listen to it here.

See you Sunday.

Street Portrait (for and of Giovanni), 2014– Street Portrait (for and of Giovanni), 2014 –

Yesterday, I decided to concentrate on architecture and reflections. Concentrating so hard I took no actual shots.  I was just on the point of giving up on the day entirely when I spotted Giovanni taking a break from the heat in the shade of a shop. He seemed to exude summer and was really nice about having his photograph taken. Thanks very much, Giovanni! Hope you like your picture.

– Ariel and Rich #1, 2014 –

Ariel and Rich were with two other people, minding their own business on Lincoln’s Inn Fields. I tailed them for a while – slightly unsure how to proceed – I’ve never attempted a quadruple portrait. In the event, when I asked my customary question, only Ariel and Rich said yes. And they were great – stylish, funny and very generous. I love the shapes they made in the frame. Thanks very much for stopping, Ariel and Rich! Hope you like your pictures.
