The Last Time I Saw You (2020)

Hello all! Over on Instagram I have just launched a competition…To celebrate the launch of my print shop I thought we could play a naming game…

The first three images to be made available in the shop are (in order of appearance on the Instagram post), The Last Time I Saw You (2020), Event Site (for MJ Harrison) (2022), and Who Do You Do (2022). I’m not massively happy with the first title, so I’ll be giving away a limited edition print worth £70 to the person who can come up with the best alternative title for The Last Time I Saw You (that’s the landscape image) in the Instagram post comments for the next week or so.

The winner wins a print of the image of their choice.
The judge’s decision is entirely subjective, completely unfair and final. The winner will be announced in two week’s time.

About the prints:
All three images are printed with Lucia Ex Pigment by Canon on Hahnemühle Agave 290gsm paper by Klein Imaging in Manchester in an edition of 200. Each print is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Prints can be ordered from my shop (link in description, please do, etc) and can be shipped worldwide.
Every couple of months I’ll be launching a new print, so let me know if there’s something you see in my feed you would particularly like to see as a print! Thanks all!

Who Do You Do (2022)

Painting in progress, plus plant

Work in progress (That’s How We Do Things #2) with plant

That’s How We Do Things #2 is one of two paintings I’m working on at the moment. This one is 80 x 80 cm. The other is 90 x 90 cm and I’m feeling the difference in scale in terms of the marks I feel I can make. Both paintings are acrylic paint and watercolour pencil on canvas and are based on digital constructs.

Also in the works: a series of hastily assembled limited edition books collecting sketches, photos, and writing…more info soon…

And a new online conversation with David Cook is on the way…we’ve been to visit a couple of new exhibitions…

If you are interested in my work, I’m an active member of the Ello community (fantastically vibrant artist’s social media platform), and post regularly on Instagram. For an overview (and to buy a limited number of prints and paintings), there’s my website: https://richardguest.art/. In the spotlight this month December:

There’s a wider selection of paintings and digital constructs available to buy on Saatchi Art and I sell prints and greetings cards on Etsy.
