– Street Portrait (for and of Jason), 2014 –
Jason had the most fantastic shirt on. I really should have asked him where it was from, but I didn’t. He was great about having his photograph taken (so many times) – this was the final shot and is my favourite. Thanks very much, Jason! Hope you like your picture.

Rare, magical, incredible portrait….A fine piece of capture Richard. I envy you!!
Thank you so much, Arjun! Huge compliment coming from you!
A fine portrait, Richard and I agree about the shirt! 😉
Thanks very much, Marina! 🙂 I need to get shopping…
Fantastic, Richard. Good in many ways. The framing, the tones, Jason himself. Everything. And I really like beards. 🙂
Amd thank you for your continuing support of sots, my friend. 🙂
Thanks so much, Ashley and you’re welcome re: sots – it’s a great idea and beautifully realised. 🙂
Thanks very much. 😀
Love Jason’s penetrating, gentle gaze!
Yes, he’s got a great look altogether! Thanks very much, Patti!
I would try Paul Smith for the shirt, although that’s just a guess of course! 🙂 Beautiful portrait, lovely man! Gorgeous! 🙂
Ah, yes! Thanks very much, Gigi! 🙂
Jason looks very thoughtful 🙂
Yes, unfortunately, I think he was thinking, “I wish this guy would hurry up.”
I’m sure he wasn’t, Richard, and I bet he is really pleased with the result.
You’ve got the terrific shape echo going on again-glasses, shirt pattern and button. Another excellent portrait!
Thanks so much for noticing, Elena! When you compose a picture, does it feel instinctive to you, or do you carefully plan?
Beautiful portrait, Richard. And YES. I’m also loving Jason’s gaze, glasses AND shirt! AB-FAB combo. ~Theadora
Thanks so much, T! Yes, Jason’s great isn’t he? The most stylish man by a country mile on the street that day.
He looks like a writer, I think. Very distinguished. If he is a writer he should work out a deal with you for the use of this photo on a book jacket. : )
It’s a great portrait, Richard.
Yes, he really does. That’s a very interesting point – I’m always so wrapped up in taking the shot that I forget to ask what people do – I might start doing that. Thanks so much, Karen.
Great portrait, Richard! Interesting that you initially zoomed in on his shirt, but that’s not the focus of the shot. And another cool beard! 😀
Thanks very much, Richard! Yes, indeed! 🙂
A photo taken in such a way that makes one want to know more about the subject. Very compelling!
Thanks very much, Steven!
I love your portraits, Richard. I lack the language to explain exactly what I mean except that they are so very *human*. I always feel like I know the people you photograph (or would like to). And Jason doesn’t look at all annoyed with you. I imagine it’s very flattering, being asked by a photographer if they can make a portrait of you. 🙂
I’m really glad you like them. Yes, I get what you mean – I like shots of people that appear un-posed and look for moments that reveal some kind of underlying character. And I only take photographs of people I like the look of. Yes, I wonder what that’s like 🙂
A lovely portrait. I like the hair, beard and glasses.
Thanks very much, Cardinal!
Jason is a great character and I really love the detail you’ve captured in his hair and beard.
Yes, indeed. Thanks very much, Cheryl!
Another beautiful portrait; you’ve certainly captured the magical space “between” in this one, it shows in his eyes.
That’s such a good description of that place/ time! Thanks very much, Billimarie.
Superb portrait and, yes, what a fab shirt. The b&w tones in this are gorgeous
Thanks so much, Stevie!
