There is a wilful lemming–like persistence in remaking past successes time after time. They can’t make them as good as they are in our memories, but they go on doing them and each time it’s a disaster. Why don’t we remake some of our bad pictures – I’d love another shot at ‘Roots of Heaven’ – and make them good?

Ashley Lily Scarlett and I have started a new blog called Between Scarlett and Guest. It’s a dialogue in pictures. You can read/ eavesdrop on the conversation here.

Excellent. I like the strong red in the corner because it directs your view to other parts of the picture.
Thanks very much, Rabirius. Really glad you like it.
Really nice!
Thanks so much, Jennifer!
i love this
Thanks very much – really glad you like it.
I love the subtle hint of colour in this, Richard! 🙂
Thanks very much, my friend! Yes, I enjoyed bringing that in to the picture – the original version seemed to lack something.
I remember how much I enjoyed the original shot Richard and now, looking at this, I see a picture of two excellent halves – top and bottom and so much fun scrolling between the two!
Thanks so much, Patti – really glad you like them. I’ve started down a path I think…
I am one of 79! No wonder. This is one of the best Richard.
Thanks so much, Philippa. Really glad you like it. More in a similar vein to come…
Indeed you had an idea-and an excellent one!
Thanks so much, Elena!
How beautiful. Simply (not simply of course) beautiful.
Thanks very much, Steven. Really glad you like it. I’ve been making quite a lot of work like this lately.
It’s an excellent image, Richard, really vibrant – and I don’t mean just the red. And some more fancy linking, that must have taken you ages! Great fun!
Thanks so much, Ashley. Yes, the linking was an evening’s work – I really like these links – I played most of the tracks in full after I’d finished.
The addition of the color gives punch to this, and greater dimension. I like it.
Thanks – I agree – this was what sent me off down the wobbly track…
